Ideas are interesting.Impact is measurable.
How we measure, what we publish, and the rules we hold ourselves to. State the method before the numbers, and keep every unverified figure as XX until evidenced.

100% Community Verified
“Measured with the community, never estimated about them.”
Per build
Four forms of capital.
Every build is assessed on what it changed for the people it was built with.

Measured and published, or not made at all.
- Skills
What did someone learn?
- Tools
What capability did they gain access to?
- Market
What new customer or economic opportunity opened?
- Income
What actually changed financially?
Measured, never estimated.
The report card
What the first report will have to answer.
These are the lines the April 2027 report is built to fill. Every figure stays XX until it is measured with the people it describes and signed off by them.

Seats fully funded

What counts
An outcome is only real once she confirms it.
Not hours logged, not sessions delivered. The person the build was for tells us whether anything changed, and we publish it either way.
Per year
Five organisational measures.
What we report on ourselves, annually, in public.
- Reach
Who participated: countries, cohorts, communities.
- Access
Who received opportunities they otherwise would not have had: funded seats, first devices, first incomes.
- Building
What was actually created: builds shipped, projects delivered to NGO partners.
- Learning
What capabilities changed: credential completions, skills verified.
- Afterlife
What happened after the programme: builds still in use at 6 and 12 months; fellows earning at 3, 6 and 12 months.
The claims policy
Published in public.
The discipline is the deliverable: we would rather publish nothing than publish a number we cannot show you the working for.
We publish only what can be evidenced. Where measurement is underway, we say measurement underway. Never a projected percentage. Never an estimated income figure. Never a partner logo without written permission. Holding ourselves to this in public is the point.
The Billion Founders Impact Report
Seats funded, fellows graduated, builds shipped, livelihoods activated, counted only two ways: jobs and first customers. Published every April. First edition: April 2027.
Who holds us to it
An impact council, not a marketing team.
Measurement is reviewed by people outside the organisation before anything is published. The council is forming now, alongside the first cohorts.
NGO partner reviewers
Field leads from partner organisations verify that reported outcomes match what happened in their communities.
Measurement practitioners
Monitoring and evaluation specialists review method, sample and the wording of every claim before publication.
Faculty advisers
Academic advisers challenge attribution: what would have happened anyway, and what the build actually caused.
Builder representatives
Graduating fellows and community partners sit on the review so the people described can contest how they are described.
Evidence
Ask for the working, not just the report.
Funders, researchers and journalists can request our measurement notes, cohort definitions and the things that did not work.
We use what you send here to reply to you and nothing else. Under-18s should have a parent, guardian or teacher send the enquiry with them.
